Nicholas Connon Moderates Panel on Cannabis Law and Public Policy

On March 8, 2019, Nicholas Connon moderated a panel of experts at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs on issues pertaining to cannabis law and public policy, particularly as applied to the medical use of cannabis.  A broad range of topics were discussed, including the impact on legalization of cannabis at the State level versus Federal law that continues to categorize cannabis as a Schedule I drug, research in the area of cannabis use particularly among older populations, and the legal challenges that businesses face who may seek to enter the cannabis industry in states that have legalized medical use of cannabis and/or have more broadly legalized the drug.  Experts from around the country offered their commentary on this evolving area of law and public policy.
