John V.N. PhilipAttorneyJohn Philip has practiced law for 20 years representing clients in complex United States and international litigations and arbitrations. He has experience involving high-value contractual disputes, claims against financial institutions, securities litigation, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims, shareholder derivative actions, claims arising from the events on 9/11 at the World Trade Center, environmental and land use claims, labor and employment, as well as intellectual property matters. Particularly prominent among his successful international representations was his work, both in New York and Paris, representing a major French pharmaceutical company in the multi-million dollar "fenfluramine" litigation. He has also represented foreign individuals in various actions brought in New York State courts.
Mr. Philip has extensive experience with depositions and cross examination. Mr. Philip also has wide-ranging experience with large case management, in particular with financial institutions and commercial litigation involving extensive pre-trial as well as electronic discovery.
Besides his international work, Mr. Philip at times sits as an administrative law judge. His extensive legal drafting experience has led him to be invited by a number of the country's largest and most prestigious law firms to speak on the particular skills needed for drafting legal arguments and briefs.
