Kathleen M. Wood is a graduate of
Columbia Law School. Kathleen received a Parker School Certificate (with
honors) for study in Foreign and Comparative Law, and she was a member of the
Columbia Journal of Law and the Arts. While at Columbia, Kathleen interned
at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
Kathleen began her litigation career
in the Litigation Department at Proskauer Rose
LLP in New York City from 1986
to 1990. Thereafter, Kathleen moved to Los Angeles and remained in
the Litigation Department of Proskauer’s Los Angeles office until 1996. In
1996, Kathleen became a member of the law firm of Bucksbaum & Sasaki
LLP in Century
City, which later became Sasaki & Brown LLP. In 2001, Kathleen established
Connon Wood Scheidemantle LLP.
Kathleen’s practice focuses on civil
business litigation, including copyright litigation, unfair competition,
antitrust matters, multidistrict litigation, class actions, licensing disputes
(primarily within the entertainment industry), real estate and miscellaneous
transactional disputes and various business torts. Kathleen also has
experience litigating employment disputes.
Kathleen is licensed to practice law
in California and New York. She has been active in several bar associations and
community groups. She volunteers for the Los Angeles County Superior Judge Program.
