Paladino v. Fox
(2001) 89 Cal.App.4th 294
Nicholas Connon regularly represents attorneys in a variety of contexts.  The issues unique to attorney representation often involve balancing the privilege and confidentiality concerns with the rights of the attorney-client.  The Paladino decision established the right of attorneys in California to consult their own legal counsel in order to secure legal advice regarding their rights without the risk of being sued for disclosing information to their legal counsel.  The Paladino decision is also one of the leading cases on the parameters of Section 425.16 of the California Code of Civil Procedure, known as the SLAPP statute.
